April 27, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce that the 4th Annual Berkley Street Art Fest has been cancelled for 2020.

First and foremost, the safety and health of our entire community, guests, artists, volunteers, and staff is our first priority and always top of mind when coming to decisions for cancellation. We did not make this decision lightly because we know that this event draws nearly 5,000 people to downtown Berkley and allows our Coolidge businesses to be showcased and discovered. However, with the uncertainty of the times, we are unable to be fully confident in the fact that it will be safe to gather and celebrate the 2nd Saturday of July 2020.

In addition, we cannot postpone the event for later in the year. The Berkley Street Art Fest is funded primarily by small business sponsors. These businesses have been hurt financially by the Stay Home Stay Safe order to help stop the spread of the coronavirus and we do not know at this point how quickly they will recover. In addition, the Chamber has also been affected financially with the cancellation of the Berkley Art Bash which helps to raise funds so that the Chamber can support other community events such as this one. So not knowing if we would get the necessary funding needed to have this event, it is prudent that we cancel for this year.

We will be back next year! Please mark your calendar for July 10, 2021 when we color the streets with Chalk Art and more!
